SKOOL is a very cool new Edutainment platform where you can build out courses, educate people on your expertise and get paid for your wisdom & knowledge. Here’s a quick look at how to set up your SKOOL :

  1. Sign up for a SKOOL.com account. They offer a nine dollar a month easy plan that will get you started and give you most of what you need to launch your SKOOL.
  2. Start assembling the Information for your Online SKOOL Courses in a Google Slides Doc. Pick a topic and start an outline of what your SKOOL Courses are and the Lessons you want to teach underneath each Course topic.
  3. Once you have your Course content created, it’s time to set up your SKOOL.
  4. When you login, you’ll see the interface as a top NAV with tabs and then a section below that that says “Set up your Group”
  5. Watch the Intro Video, set your Cover Image then write your First Post which can act as a Welcome to anyone visiting your SKOOL.
  6. Download the App for your phone, which is a good way to monitor your SKOOL and also create content.
  7. The next step is to click on the Settings Button in the right hand column. This is where you’ll set up most of your basic information about your SKOOL.
  8. Once in Settings, click through the left-hand NAV items to get an idea of what you’ll be filling out.
  9. Click on the General tab and upload your Logo as your SKOOL’s Icon and a Cover Photo. Give your SKOOL a Name. Then write your SKOOL’s Description.
  10. The next left NAV item to look at is your Pricing Model. I suggest doing the Fremium option where you let people join and experience a Course of a couple free Lessons, and then you can have one or two Paid Tiers. Give them a taste and they will want more.
  11. This will get your SKOOL to a base level where you can begin creating Content, Courses and Lessons.
  12. Exit out of Settings and then click on the Classroom tab at the top of the page.
  13. Click on the area that says New Course. Give your Course a Name and a Course Description. Think of this as one Course of Lessons where there will be multiple Lessons underneath this Course. In the end you will have multiple Courses with multiple Lessons underneath them that are organized by sub topics within your main SKOOL. Think of them almost as separate Classes in high school. Next decide if everyone can access the Course, if it is unlocked at a certain level of Subscription or if it is a Buy Now Course. Each Course type will have its own sub variables like Pricing, etc.. Then upload your Course Cover Photo and click Add. This can be a Screenshot from the Video used in the Course.
  14. Next, you will create Lessons underneath the Course you just created.
  15. Creating a Lesson is very easy. Just click on the Three Dots and select “Add Page”. Then click on the Pencil Icon to edit your new Lesson (also referred to as a Page).
  16. Now we are editing a specific Lesson. Short form Videos are great for these. You can either link to a Video that you’ve uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo or upload a video directly to your SKOOL Lesson. You can also add a transcript of the Video, Images or Graphics that might help teach your Lesson. You can also link to External Resources like PDFs and also write out Thoughts, Anecdotes, Examples and Questions for your Students.
  17. The next area to set up in the top tabs is the About sSection. This is where you can add information about your SKOOL, your experience, your expertise, the reasons WHY people should learn from you, a description of WHAT they will learn from you, and you can also add in some Pricing Information. This is also a great area for Testimonials from people you have taught in the past you could even add a Video Testimonial. This would also be a good place to put an Intro Video where you introduce yourself, welcome people, and talk about some of the topics above.
  18. Guess what, you just set up your SKOOL.
  19. That is basically it. There’s one more section that is valuable and that is the Calendar where you can schedule Online Meetings, Events in Person, Events, One-on-One Teaching Sessions, etc. Feel free to explore that tab. It’s very self-explanatory.
  20. Congratulations you just opened your SKOOL!

How can we help you succeed?
